Guridi
How does one pack a whale (or a life) into a suitcase—and leave behind everything else—to travel to an unknown future? Guridi’s story is a timely metaphor for the crisis of migrants and the challenges of uprooting one’s existence and packing all that one needs for the next uncertain stage. The watercolor illustrations, with the giant scale of the bright red whale compared to the tiny boy and his suitcase, give the whale the importance it represents in the mind of a child.
